In recent years, with the rapid development and widespread application of the drone market, the frequency of unauthorized drone flights (commonly referred to as “black flying”) has increased significantly. These incidents, which include interference with aviation, smuggling, and even potential terrorist attacks, have caused substantial economic losses and raised numerous safety concerns and accidents. To address the potential low-altitude security threats posed by “low, slow, and small” (LSS) drone targets, our company, leveraging its two decades of experience in the optoelectronic industry, has introduced the “High-Energy Laser Damage Defense System.”

This system comprises radar detection equipment, intelligent tracking devices, laser disposal devices, and a command, control, and surveillance platform. The various devices are deployed in a distributed manner and are interconnected through the command, control, and surveillance platform to truly achieve detection and disposal of all types of drones, especially LSS drones.

The radar detection equipment is capable of continuously detecting and discovering unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) within a 5km airspace range of key areas, 24/7 and in all weather conditions. It can accurately provide the command, control, and surveillance platform with the UAVs' trajectory information, including their azimuth, distance, altitude, and speed. Upon receiving the target's location information, the platform can parse it into the horizontal, elevation, and zoom linkage information for the intelligent tracking device. The intelligent tracking device can automatically select matching position linkage information based on the target's location, size, and speed, enabling precise linkage tracking of moving targets within a 5km airspace range of key areas. Command personnel can use the command, control, and surveillance platform to review the moving target's trajectory information and real-time video preview, and freely deploy on-site disposal personnel to use countermeasures such as anti-drone guns to interfere with the navigation and control channels of drones operating on specific frequencies, thereby forcing them to land or return to their point of origin.

When the target enters the dangerous zone within 1-2km of the key area, the laser disposal device can be activated to directly destroy the drone, ensuring the safety of the key area.

Advantages of integrated processing unit

The Integrated Processing Unit is based on a ruggedized laptop with a triple-screen setup and a control joystick. The terminal display and control software integrates the control and display functions of the system's equipment, featuring the linkage function between the radar detection device, intelligent tracking device, and laser disposal device. The platform can receive the target's azimuth, distance, altitude, and speed information from the radar and display the map along with the trajectory of the moving target. It can also parse the target location information detected by the radar into horizontal, elevation, and zoom linkage information for the intelligent tracking device and laser disposal device, allowing real-time preview of the tracking video and remote operation of the laser to strike the target.

The system is easy to operate and has a low dependency on specialized skills. Operators can become familiar with the system operation after just ten minutes of training provided by our company.
